| Avignon, Provence, France : an excellent restaurant : Bleus les Thés in Avignon If you are lucky enough to get an available table in the very small restaurant (18 guests max) called "Bleus les Thés" in the historic center of Avignon, then you will discover what is an exquisite and delicious French Dinner or Lunch. The owner and chef, François ALEIME, and his wife Claire-Marie have decorated the restaurant in pale blue colors so reminiscent of blue summer Provence skies!. Their approach to what they prepare and serve you is the oppposite to what most traditional (and expensive!) restaurants are now doing. Their menu contains: no frozen food, no vacuum packed food, no chemical preservatives, no tomatoes in winter.... because real Provence tomatoes are not grown in winter ! And don’t expect to see strawberry crumble on the menu in winter either...because you can't get fresh ones or they are imported from foreign countries and have no taste!!..... Instead you can enjoy a pineapple crumble which you will remember the rest of your life ! François will be delighted to explain to you his natural approach to seasonal cuisine. Most of the products prepared come from Organic Farms and Suppliers who have been meticulously researched and selected year after year by François Aleime. One drawback !: Whilst the restaurant is open all week long for lunch (except on Sundays), it is only open for Dinner on Wednesday's, Thursday's, Friday’s and Saturday’s. Why? Simply because "Bleus les Thés" have acquired such fame as caterers that most of the functions and cocktail parties held in Avignon are supplied by them ! François will not compromise on quality, so in order to maintain their excellent reputation, they have been obliged, for the moment, to limit their restaurant opening hours.... All the more reason to plan your time well ! For a very reasonable budget of about 30 euros per person service and tax included, (wine not included) you will discover a new and brilliant talent of the French cuisine and art de vivre. The restaurant "Bleus les Thés" is a must while staying in Avignon or in Provence ! 26, rue Bouquerie84000 AVIGNON Tel/fFax +33 (0)4 32 76 23 69back to Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat
